The Plateau State University, Bokkos, is set to resume academic activities barely two weeks after academic activities were interrupted due to an attack by gun men which claimed the live of a 200 level student and a few others in Bokkos community on 18/04/2023.
You will recall that the students engaged in a protest on 19/04/2024, to express their grievances over the killing of the student in what they viewed as the inability of the government and school management to protect the lives of students, a protest which some how turned violent between students and security personnel, the situation reportedly led to the loss of more lives.
The management has proceeded to impose a fine of seven thousand Naira on each student for protesting before resumption, to be accompanied by an undertaking letter to be endorsed by a traditional ruler.
