CORPS MEMBERS ARE ADDING VALUE TO ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY – Ondo State Coordinator discloses
The NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Amaramiro Pepple has disclosed that NYSC has been adding values to the nation’s entertainment and music industry with the calibre of graduate youths with amazing talents the Scheme produces.
The State Coordinator made the disclosure at the Variety Night where corps members on a platoon basis competed for honour to select the most beautiful corps member for Miss NYSC beautiful pageant and pronounced muscular male as Mr. Macho.
Pepple, who praised the contestants for their boldness at representing their various platoons, noted that NYSC has become a fertile ground where intelligence is combined with beauty to enhance the industry that is fast breaking fresh grounds.
“My dear children, today is yet another night to unwind and promote excellence among the corps members who are willing to break new frontiers, having a solid academic background, and want to toe the path of Agbani Darego and the likes”.
He said that NYSC will continue to encourage and promote corps members who believe in one of the objectives of the Scheme, ‘To enable Nigerian youth acquire the spirit of self-reliance by encouraging them to develop skills for self-development ‘.
The Night, which had arrays of distinguished camp officials complementing the youthful at heart during the colourful night showcased corps members with talents in music and acting.
The programme, replica of well advertised and hyped event, produced corps members who gave good account of themselves during questions and answers session as well as when they adorned traditional attires to showcase different cultures of the various ethnic groups of Nigeria.
In the Miss NYSC category, corps member Anthony, Vivian Tochi, OD/24A/1971 was declared winner while Godwin, Emediong Philip, OD/24A/2712 and Ojukwu,Shulamite Ujunwa, OD/24A/2019 came second and third respectively.
For the most muscular corps member on camp, Ahanonu, Emmanuel Onyekachi, OD/24A/2755 was crowned Mr. Macho followed by Uwazuruike Chidera, OD/24A/2571 who came second. The third position went to Dike, Kennedy Chidera, OD/24A/3416.
