
DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY (DELSU) ANNOUNCES 2024 END OF YEAR BREAK; INTRODUCES NEW PHD PROGRAMME
The Delta State University, Abraka, has announced a Christmas break for all members of the university community, except those on essential services, from Monday, December 23, 2024, to Friday, January 3, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Directorate of Ceremonials, Information and Public Relations, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, has approved the break to enable staff and students to participate in the Yuletide celebrations.
The university will resume its normal activities on Monday, January 6, 2025. The Vice Chancellor has also sent warm wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year to all staff, students, and other members of the university community.
In a related development, the university has introduced a new PhD programme in Anaesthesia, which has been approved by the University Senate. The programme will commence in the 2024/2025 academic session and will offer specializations in nine areas, including Paediatric Anaesthesia, Obstetric Anaesthesia, Critical Care Medicine, and Regional Anaesthesia.
The university has invited interested and qualified members of the public to apply for admission into the programme. This new development is expected to boost the university’s reputation as a center of academic excellence and research.
