LASU COMMENCES UNDERGRADUATE FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION IN A CALM AND CONDUCIVE ATMOSPHERE
FIRST SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS COMMENCE SEAMLESSLY AS MANAGEMENT TEAM EMBARKS ON MONITORING EXERCISE
First semester examinations for the 2023/2024 academic session commenced on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, across campuses of Lagos State University, as scheduled.
On the main campus, the university management, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan embarked on a monitoring exercise to faculties to assess firsthand the conduct of the exercise.
Prof. Omobitan was joined by the Acting Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, and the Special Assistant to the VC, Dr. Lateef Salami, as they moved from faculty to faculty assessing the exercise.
At the Faculty of Education, where the monitoring took off, the team was received by the Dean, Prof. Solomon Makinde who showed them round the examination halls.
At the School of Transportation and Logistics, the next stop, exams were also ongoing seamlessly to the satisfaction of the management team. The situation at the Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Management Science was also similar. Students were writing the papers in a calm and conducive atmosphere. Dean of Transportation, Prof. Charles Asenime, Dean of Social Science, Prof. Olufemi Lawal, and Dean of Management Science, Prof. Akanji Bankole all received the guests enthusiastically.
Next, the delegation moved to the Faculty of Arts, where they were welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Taiwo Salisu who assured them that all was well at the faculty.
The home run saw the team visit the Faculty of Science, where they were received by the Dean, Prof. Moses Akanbi, and former DVC, Prof. Sena Bakre, before going to the Faculty of Law where the Dean, Prof. Olatoye conducted them round examination halls.
The monitoring terminated at the University Central Store, where the DVC gave instructions concerning the distribution of some examination materials.
In the end, the DVC expressed his satisfaction at the smooth conduct of the examinations and expressed hope that the remaining days of the exercise would be equally hitch-free.
