LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) KICKS AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED BURNING OF BUSHES/WASTES; “REMAINS PROHIBITED IN LASU CAMPUS”

The attention of the university management has been drawn to cases of indiscriminate burning of bushes and or other combustible domestic items/wastes by members of the university community in campuses of the university – at Ojo, Epe, LASU Foundation, Badagry and Aradagun Hostel, and LASU Museum, Agege.

Management notes that the practice has become frequent amongst staff, students, residents of the university staff quarters, food and confectionery vendors at various lock-up shops within the campuses, workers of construction companies at different construction sites on the campuses, small scale farmers and mechanics and artisans outside the campuses.

In view of the dangers posed by unauthorized and indiscriminate bush burning, especially at this harmattan season, management hereby *reiterate* it’s subsisting policy that the practice of unauthorized bush/material burning in the university campuses remains *Strictly Prohibited*

Members of the university community are to note that the university will not hesitate to take decisive action against anyone caught flouting this policy.
