
NUC ACCREDITATION TEAMS ON LAW, FISHERIES, PHILOSOPHY, AGRICULTURE, AND PORTUGUESE ARRIVE, RECEIVED BY VC
Accreditation exercise for five programmes in three faculties and a School – Common and Civil Law, Fisheries, Philosophy, Agriculture and Portuguese, commenced on Monday, 13th November 2023 with the arrival of the National Universities Commission (NUC) teams on the programmes. Representative of the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan received the teams at the Senate Chamber, first floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, main campus, Ojo.
Deans of the host faculties – Prof. Taiwo Salisu, Arts (Philosophy and Portuguese; Prof. K.A Olatoye, Law; Prof. S.L Akintola, Science (Fisheries) and Prof. O.T.F Abanikanda, Agriculture – alongside heads of departments and professors in the concerned departments, were also present as the representative of the VC expressed optimism that on the strength of the university’s perpetration, the accreditation exercise would be a success. He also assured the teams of the full cooperation and support of members of staff of the university.
Leader of the accreditation team on Law, Prof. Enefiong Essien, who spoke on behalf of the five teams, appreciated the university for the warm hospitality they have received and assured that the process was a peer review that would improve the respective programmes.
