KWARA STATE COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES OKE-ODE (KWCONOO) HOLDS FRESH STUDENTS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Provost of the Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO), Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQaudri, on Monday formally declared open the orientation programme for newly admitted Set 12 students of the college.
The orientation exercise took place at the institution’s temporary campus in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Addressing the new intakes, Alhaji AbdulQaudri welcomed them into the college and congratulated them on their successful admission. He explained that although the college is currently operating from Ilorin, KWCONOO remains an Oke-Ode-based institution, stressing that the temporary relocation was necessitated by the need to ensure the safety and welfare of both staff and students.
The Provost reaffirmed the commitment of the management to providing a secure, peaceful, and conducive learning environment that would support effective teaching and quality nursing education.
At the commencement of the programme, he introduced the lecturers and staff members who accompanied him to the orientation exercise.
In an interactive session with the students, Alhaji AbdulQaudri shared his personal life journey, narrating how determination, discipline, and seriousness enabled him to gain admission and eventually qualify as a professional nurse. He urged the new students to remain focused on their academic pursuits and to take their studies seriously.
He also advised the students to cultivate healthy and respectful relationships with their lecturers, especially their class coordinators, noting that mutual respect and cooperation are key ingredients for academic success.
The orientation programme concluded with prayers offered by the Provost for the academic excellence, personal development, and overall success of the newly admitted students.
