AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU) ANNOUNCES 45TH CONVOCATION CEREMONY


Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has announced activities for its 45th Convocation Ceremony, inviting members of the university community and the general public to participate in the landmark event.

In a notice issued by the Management, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, FNITP, RTP, FICD, on behalf of the Chancellor, Council, Senate, staff and students, disclosed that the convocation programme will feature two major events.

The Pre-Convocation Lecture will hold on Friday, 30 January 2026, at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria, by 3:00 p.m. The lecture will be delivered by the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Her Excellency, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, GCON. Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, will chair the session.

The main Convocation Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the Mamman Kontagora Square, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria. Proceedings are expected to commence at 10:00 a.m.

The university management expressed confidence that the events will be memorable and stated that the institution would be greatly honoured by the presence of invited guests and members of the public.
