TSU GAINS MLSCN CERTIFICATION FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE STUDENTS
Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, has been commended by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) for its rising academic standards, coinciding with the Department of Medical Laboratory Science’s maiden professional examinations.
A delegation from MLSCN, led by Prof. Zakka Sheyin, visited the university on Monday to supervise the examinations and evaluate TSU’s readiness for professional training. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, welcomed the examiners alongside the DVC Development Services, Prof. Mahmood Hamidu Umar, and the University Librarian, Dr. Israel Habibu Idris.
Prof. Sheyin lauded the university’s rapid infrastructural growth, particularly the state-of-the-art laboratories and Computer-Based Testing facilities, attributing the progress to the support of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas and the university management. He noted that TSU has now joined the ranks of institutions capable of delivering a robust Medical Laboratory Science programme.
Prof. Bako expressed gratitude to the Council for its oversight and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards. Over 200 students are participating in the inaugural professional examinations.
Students of the department also praised the management’s efforts, describing the milestone as a significant chapter in the growth of both the programme and the university.
