FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION DEBUNKS FAKE MESSAGE ON ALLEGED NATIONWIDE SCHOOL CLOSURE

The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed as fake a viral message circulating across social media platforms claiming that all schools nationwide have been closed or will be closed from 25 November 2025.

In a public notice issued in Abuja on Saturday, the Ministry described the message as false, misleading, and not originating from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognized security agency.

According to the statement signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations, the ministry urged Nigerians to desist from spreading unverified information capable of causing panic and confusion within the education sector.

The Ministry advised members of the public to rely solely on verified information from official channels including the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education, State Governments and their respective Ministries of Education, as well as recognized security agencies.

The statement further cautioned the public against sharing announcements or advisories from unofficial sources, stressing the need for proper verification of information to curb the spread of misinformation.
