LAUTECH COMMENCES INVESTIGATION AFTER SECURITY OFFICER ASSAULTS STUDENT
The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has begun a thorough investigation after a video went viral showing a security officer physically assaulting a student on campus.
The incident took place on Wednesday 12 November 2025 at the 1,500 Lecture Theatre within the Pre-Degree Science Complex and has attracted widespread reactions online.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Mrs Olayinka O. Balogun, the university confirmed that the matter is receiving the highest level of attention. She noted that an internal inquiry is already in motion and that any staff member found culpable will face disciplinary action according to the school’s regulations.
The Registrar reiterated the institution’s commitment to a peaceful and respectful academic environment, stressing that LAUTECH does not tolerate violence or abusive conduct in any form.
She also encouraged students to continue attending their lectures without fear, assuring that management has put preventive measures in place to avoid similar incidents in the future.
