LAUTECH SUSPENDS ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AT ISEYIN CAMPUS OVER STUDENT’S DEATH
The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has announced the suspension of academic activities at its Iseyin Campus following the tragic death of a 200-level student from the Department of Agricultural Economics.
According to a statement issued by Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun on Friday, 7th November 2025, the student was reportedly killed by a hit-and-run driver in Iseyin, an incident that has left the university community in deep sorrow.
The management expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, describing the loss as devastating.
“In light of this grievous loss, and in recognition of the emotional toll it has taken on our students and staff, the University Management has approved a two-week suspension of academic activities at the Iseyin Campus, effective immediately,” the statement read.
Students of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources have been directed to proceed on the two-week break, while academic activities are expected to resume on Monday, 24th November 2025.
Officers on essential duties will receive further communication from the management in the usual manner.
The university further urged students to remain calm, stay safe, and support one another as they honour the memory of their late colleague.
