TEAM-LASU HEADS TO UNIJOS FOR 2025 NUGA GAMES
Team-LASU has left the Lagos State University campus for the University of Jos, Plateau State, to take part in the 2025 Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) competition.
The team, made up of over 100 student-athletes, departed early Thursday morning in high spirits, ready to make the university proud.
Speaking about the trip, LASUSU Sports Director, Ekun Folashade, said the team is fully prepared and optimistic about giving their best performance. She listed the sports LASU will be competing in to include football (male), basketball (female), handball (male), taekwondo, judo, karate, scrabble, table tennis, boxing, and athletics.
She added that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has sent her goodwill message to the team, wishing them a safe trip and a successful outing at the games.
The Games scheduled from November 6th to 16th, 2025, with the Opening Ceremony scheduled for November 8th. Student athletes will begin arriving from November 6th to camp at the University of Jos hostels in preparation for what promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Beyond competition, the UNIJOS 2025 will ignite economic and cultural growth across Plateau State, with tourism, hospitality, and local enterprises set to thrive. From the rolling beauty of Sherri Hills to the serenity of the Wildlife Park and the creative pulse of the Art Gallery, Jos is ready to welcome the nation.
