BUK APPOINTS PROF. MUKHTAR RIDWANU BUNZA AS NEW DEAN OF STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS
Bayero University, Kano, has announced the appointment of Prof. Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza from the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, Faculty of Agriculture, as the new Dean of Students’ Affairs.
He takes over from Prof. Shamsuddeen Umar, who had held the position since 2018.
Prof. Bunza, a seasoned scholar and administrator, has previously served as Head of Department and Sub-Dean (Facilities), earning commendation for his leadership and commitment to academic excellence.
Promoted to the rank of Professor of Forest Ecology and Silviculture during the 416th Senate Meeting in August 2024, he brings vast experience and over 50 scholarly publications to his new role.
His appointment is viewed as a strategic step toward enhancing student development, moral discipline, and academic standards within the university community.
