JAMB EXTENDS 2025/2026 PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES ADMISSION DEADLINE
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the extension of the 2025 admission deadline for public universities.
In a statement issued by the Board’s Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the new closing date has been shifted from October 31 to November 17.
JAMB explained that the decision followed an appeal by the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) due to disruptions caused by a court order that temporarily halted the 2025/2026 admission process until October 28.
The Board also noted that the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently released a list of 229 newly accredited programmes for 37 universities, which required additional time for proper admission scheduling.
While commending universities for their commitment to meeting the earlier deadline, JAMB stressed that the new date is final and must be strictly observed.
