UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT (UNIPORT) POSTPONES RESUMPTION FOR 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced a two-week postponement of the resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a press release signed by the Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations, Dr. Sam Kpenu, the University management said the decision was taken after a meeting of the Committee of Provost and Deans held on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The statement explained that the resumption date, earlier fixed for Monday, November 3, 2025, has been shifted to Monday, November 17, 2025. The adjustment, according to the management, is to allow for the smooth completion of the ongoing admission process and adequate preparation for the new academic session.
Management expressed regret over the inconvenience the postponement may cause, adding that the move was in the best interest of students and the University community.
It also reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence and effective service delivery.
