FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AKURE (FUTA) RELEASES APPROVED FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/2026 SESSION
The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially approved and released the undergraduate academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a circular referenced FUTA/REG/DAA/CIR/036, and signed by Dr. G. G. Ajayi, Deputy Registrar (Senate Matters and Admissions) for the Registrar, the approval was given at the 331st Statutory Meeting of Senate held on Wednesday, 24th September, 2025.
The circular revealed that academic activities for the first semester will begin on Monday, 3rd November, 2025, when the registration portal opens for all newly admitted and returning students. Lectures are scheduled to commence on Monday, 10th November, 2025, while orientation for fresh students will take place between Monday, 4th and Friday, 8th December, 2025.
The semester will end with examinations slated for Monday, 2nd to Saturday, 14th March, 2026, followed by an inter-semester break from Monday, 23rd March to Saturday, 18th April, 2026.
For the second semester, registration begins on Monday, 13th April, 2026, while lectures are expected to commence on Monday, 4th May, 2026. Mid-semester break comes up between Saturday, 16th May and Saturday, 13th June, 2026, after which lectures will resume on Monday, 15th June, 2026, and end on Friday, 17th July, 2026.
Examinations for the second semester are scheduled to run from Monday, 3rd August to Saturday, 15th August, 2026, after which students will proceed on an inter-session break.
Each semester will last 16 weeks, comprising lecture periods, a lecture-free week, and examination weeks.
The Registrar urged both staff and students to take note of the approved calendar and ensure full compliance with all scheduled academic activities.
