THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OFFA (FEDPOFFA) RELEASES APPROVED 1ST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR THE 2025/2026 SESSION

The Federal Polytechnic, through the Office of the Registrar, has officially released the approved academic calendar for the First Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session, following the Academic Board meeting held on Monday, 27th October 2025.

According to the release signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Academic Board, Mr. G. O. Soko, hostel facilities will open for students on Sunday, 7th December 2025, while fresh and returning students are expected to resume on Monday, 8th December 2025. Registration for both categories of students will also commence on the same day.

The Academic Board will convene on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, for results consideration, while students on the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) are to resume on Monday, 22nd December 2025. Lectures are scheduled to begin on Friday, 2nd January 2026, marking the start of the 14-week teaching period.

Registration is expected to end on Friday, 9th January 2026, after which a one-week late registration period will follow. The institution’s Convocation Ceremony will hold on Thursday, 12th February 2026, while the one-week Orientation Programme for new students is slated for Monday, 16th to Friday, 20th February 2026.

Matriculation for fresh students is fixed for Thursday, 26th February 2026, followed by a summer programme for the 2nd Semester of the 2024/2025 session between Monday, 2nd and Friday, 6th March 2026.

Lectures for the first semester will conclude on Friday, 14th March 2026, with a one-week revision period from Monday, 16th to Friday, 20th March 2026. Practical examinations will take place between Monday, 23rd and Friday, 27th March 2026, while the main First Semester Examinations will run for three weeks, from Monday, 30th March to Friday, 17th April 2026.

Students are expected to resume for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session on Monday, 20th April 2026.

The Registrar urged students to take note of the approved schedule and comply strictly with the academic timeline to ensure smooth conduct of all academic activities.
