NELFUND Reopens Student Loan Portal for 2024/2025 Academic Year — Gives Defaulting Institutions Final 48 Hours to Comply
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the reopening of its student verification portal for the 2024/2025 academic year, granting a final 48-hour window for tertiary institutions that have yet to complete their student verification exercise.
According to a statement released on Friday, October 10, 2025, and signed by Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, the portal will be open from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, to 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The Fund emphasized that the brief reopening is aimed at ensuring all eligible students are properly captured and verified by their respective institutions as part of the ongoing NELFUND loan application process.
“Failure to complete the verification process within the stipulated period will result in affected institutions forfeiting participation in the current loan cycle,” the statement read.
NELFUND further disclosed that, in line with its commitment to transparency and accountability, the list of defaulting institutions will be published alongside the press release.
The Fund reassured Nigerians of its dedication to promoting equitable access to higher education through a transparent and inclusive management of the student loan scheme.
For additional information, NELFUND urged stakeholders to contact the agency via info@nelf.gov.ng or visit its official website (www.nelf.gov.ng).
