NUC OPENS RECRUITMENT INTO VARIOUS POSITIONS

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has announced fresh job vacancies across different cadres at its headquarters in Abuja.

In an official notice, the Commission — which serves as Nigeria’s apex regulatory body for university education — disclosed that the recruitment exercise covers officer cadre, confidential secretary cadre, and clerical/auxiliary staff positions.

Among the openings are Senior Officer (CONTISS 9), Officer I (CONTISS 8), Officer II (CONTISS 7), Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 7), Assistant Cameraman, Data Processing Assistant, Artisans (Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Air-Conditioning Mechanic), Lift Operator, and Motor Driver/Mechanic.

Applicants are expected to be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 50 years, with relevant academic qualifications, competencies, and digital skills. For officer cadre roles (CONTISS 7–9), possession of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate is mandatory.

The Commission further outlined that requirements for senior positions include advanced degrees and cognate experience, while entry-level and technical roles demand qualifications ranging from O’ Level certificates and trade test certifications to National Diplomas in relevant fields.

Interested candidates are directed to submit their applications via the Commission’s official website, www.nuc.edu.ng, through the Careers Portal. The application process is free, and submissions must be completed within six weeks of the publication date.

NUC noted that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the next phase of the recruitment exercise.
