A. PREAMBLE:
Lagos State University (LASU) in conjunction with LASU Consult Limited hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for LASU Certificates and Diploma Programmes in the 2025/2026Academic Session. As provided in the relevant law establishing the institution, the mission of the University is to provide qualitative education to the large populace of Lagos State by preparing them for the challenges of managing the private and public sectors of the state through taking education nearer and closer to the people desirous of acquiring knowledge.
B. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE COURSES
1. CERTIFICATE IN TOUR GUIDING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess three (3) credits in relevant subjects in Arts, Sciences and Commercial Studies at not more than two (2) sittings at GCE/WAEC/SSCE/NECO; credit in English Language will be an added advantage.
WAIVER
Mature candidates not less than thirty (30) years old with other certificates and at least five (5) years experience in their chosen course of study are also eligible to apply.
DURATION: The course shall run for a period of three (3) months on a Part-Time Basis.
APPLICATION FEE: Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000) only.
2. CERTIFICATE IN REAL ESTATE & FACILITY MANAGEMENT
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any three (3) compulsory ‘O’ Level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in SSCE/GCE
DURATION: The certificate programme in Real Estate & Facility Management is a Part-Time Programme and will run for a period of six (6) months (intensive training)

3. CERTIFICATE IN SOCIAL WORK AND ADMINISTRATION
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with at least three (3) credits including English Language;
GCE O’ level with at least three (3) credits including English Language; or
SSCE or GCE O’ level with at least three (3) credits and a minimum of thirty (30) years of age.
Note: Officers from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Religious Organisation, Media, Local Government Service, Security Agencies AND any other interested candidates with OND/NCE/B.Sc Certificates or their equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply.
DURATION: The course shall run for a period of three (3) months on a Part-Time Basis.

4. CERTIFICATE IN FRENCH STUDIES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications in addition to a good performance in the qualifying examination:
The West African School Certificate (WASC) or General Certificate of Education (GCE O-level) or its equivalent with credits in three (3) subjects including English at not more than two (2) sittings;
The WASC or GCE O-level or its equivalent with credits in three (3) subjects at one (1) sitting and five (5) years working experience in a corporate body or government establishment;
Professional certificate or degree recognised by the University, or equivalent certificates from other countries.
WAIVER
Mature candidates above thirty-five (35) years of age with three (3) credits at one sitting are eligible to apply;

5. CERTIFICATE IN CINEMATOGRAPHY
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess three (3) credits in relevant subjects in Arts, Sciences and Commercial Studies at not more than two (2) sittings in GCE/WAEC/SSCE/NECO; credit in English Language will be an added advantage.
WAIVER

Candidates must possess three (3) credits in relevant subjects in Arts, Sciences and Commercial Studies at not more than two (2) sittings in GCE/WAEC/SSCE/NECO; credit in English Language will be an added advantage.

16. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN TRANSPORT OPERATIONS PLANNING
AND MANAGEMENT
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
Candidates must have experience in transport operation as well as possess the ability to read and write.
DURATION: Four (4) weeks.

C. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA COURSES
17. DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications;
GCE Ordinary Level or its equivalent (Teachers Grade II, WAEC, S.S.C.E.) with five (5) credits to include English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) subjects from physical and Social Sciences subjects; or
Five (5) credits in relevant subjects as stated in (i) above obtained at the final examination of NBTE recognised Preliminary ND Programme offered by the Polytechnics and similar post-secondary technical institutions.
Note: Candidates may also be interviewed or required to take a written examination, or both as part of the admission requirements.
DURATION: Two (2) Academic Sessions.

18. DIPLOMA IN ARABIC AND ISLAMIC STUDIES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Arabic Studies)
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
Merit level pass of the Thanawiyyah Certificate of Standard Ilmiyyah schools;
Credit level pass of the I’dadiyyah Certificate of Standard ‘Ilmiyyah schools;
Credit in GCE/WASC O’ level in three (3) subjects including Arabic Language and Islamic Studies.
WAIVER
Aged candidates who have attained the age of thirty-five (35) years and above and have acquired wide experience in Arabic and Islamic Studies with minimum fIbtida ‘iyyah Certificate of evidence of Walimat Khatimil Quran will be considered subject to successful performance in the qualifying examination.
Note: Candidates with additional evidence of qualification in western education will be given preference.

19. DIPLOMA IN CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must possess any of the following qualifications:
Credit in GCE/WASC O’ level Examination in three (3) subjects, including Christian Religious Studies; OR
Merit in the Teacher Grade II Examination, including Christian Religious Studies; OR
Certificates and Diplomas of Theological Institutions; and
A good grade in the entry examination.
WAIVER
Mature candidates not less than thirty-five (35) years old with less or other certificates but who have relevant experience will be considered.
DURATION: Two (2) Academic Sessions.

20. DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for the Diploma in Business Administration are required to possess at least four (4) credits in SSCE/GCE/NECO Ordinary Level, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and/or Commerce, and any other subject from Physical Sciences and Social Sciences.
DURATION: Two (2) Academic Sessions.

21. DIPLOMA IN CHEMICAL AND POLYMER ENGINEERING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
SSCE/WASSCE/GCE (O’ level) or its equivalent with a minimum of four (4) credits in Chemistry, Mathematics and any two of the following courses: Physics, Biology, Further-Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Geography and Economics. A minimum of credit pass in English Language is required for admission; or
National Technical Certificate in related Science subjects with credits.
WAIVER
Mature candidates not less than thirty (30) years of age with five (5) years working experience in Chemical Engineering Industries may be considered for admission if such candidates possess at least three (3) credits in related science subjects of which Chemistry, Mathematics and English is a must.
Note: Candidates may also be interviewed or required to take a written examination, or both as parts of the admission requirements.

22. DIPLOMA IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess Five (5) credits in O`level at GCE/SSCE/NECO to include: English Language, Literature, Mathematics and other two (2) subjects from either Arts, Commercial or Social Sciences.
Note: Any candidate with a pass in literature can be admitted into diploma in communication studies
DURATION: Two (2) Academic Sessions.

23. DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
Five (5) O’ Level credits including English, Mathematics and Physics with any two (2) other subjects. OR
National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Certificate with credit in English, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) science subjects.
A pass in Computer Foundation Examination (CFE) of Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
WAIVER
Mature candidates not less than thirty (30) years old with relevant work experience plus four (4) O’ Level credits including Mathematics, English and any other two (2) subjects are also eligible to apply with proof of age and two reference letters.

24. DIPLOMA IN CRIME MANAGEMENT
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:
Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with at least four (4) O’Level credits including English Language; OR
GCE O’level with at least four (4) credits including English Language;
SSSC or GCE O’Level with at least three (3) credits and a minimum of thirty (30) years of age.
Note: Officers from the rank of Assistant Superintendent or equivalent any other interested candidates with OND/NCE/B.SC certificates or equivalent qualifications are eligible to apply.
Target Population:
This Programme has its focus on Men and Officers of the Army, Navy, Air-force, Police, Immigration Services, Prison Services, Customs Services, Quarantine Services, Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Federal Safety Corps, Department of Security Services (DSS), Security Arms of private concerns and any other interested candidates in crime and law enforcement studies.

A Professional Certificate in Technology, Business Administration, Banking, Accounting, Law, Marketing, Finance, Insurance and any other related Professional Certificates.

27. DIPLOMA IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possessthe following requirements:
Four (4) O’ Level credits to include English Language and Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Arts, Commercial, Sciences and Social Sciences;
Ordinary level “pass” in either English or Mathematics may be accepted on the basis that the candidate would present the required credit pass in the deficient subject before graduation.

28. DIPLOMA IN ELECTRONIC AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess one of the following requirements:
SSCE/WASCE/GCE (O’LEVEL) with credit in Physics, Mathematics and any two (2) of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, English Language, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science; credit pass in English Language is required for admission; or
National Technical Certificate in related Science subject with credit passes;
WAIVER
Candidates aged thirty (30) years who have been working in Electronic and Computer industries for an upward of five (5) years but do not meet the above requirements may be considered provided they have credits in three (3) subjects which must include Physics, Mathematics and English Language.

29. DIPLOMA IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
