2025 NOV/DEC GCE: WAEC RESTORES PAPER-AND-PENCIL OPTION FOR CANDIDATES

It has been discovered on the registration dashboard for the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) General Certificate Examination (GCE) Second Series that candidates will now have the option of choosing between two examination modes.

In addition to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format introduced in recent years, WAEC has now restored the traditional Paper-and-Pencil Based Test (PPBT).

With this development, candidates will be able to choose their preferred examination mode at the point of registration:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Paper-and-Pencil Based Test (PPBT)

The decision is aimed at giving candidates flexibility and ensuring inclusivity for those who may not be fully comfortable with the CBT format.

Registration is ongoing. Candidates are advised to select carefully when choosing their exam mode.
