FEDERAL UNIVERSITY GUSAU APPOINTS PROF TUKUR ADAMU AS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR
The Governing Council of the Federal University Gusau has approved the appointment of Professor Tukur Adamu as the 4th substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Right Honourable Aminu Sani Isa.
The approval followed the Council’s 32nd regular meeting, which held from 9 to 12 December 2025.
Professor Adamu, who hails from Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, previously served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Innovations, at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He takes over from Professor Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, whose tenure is expected to end in February 2026.
In a related development, the FUGUS Council has also approved the appointment of a new University Librarian and a new Director of Physical Planning, Works and Maintenance.
