NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY (UNIZIK) ENFORCES BAN ON KNOCK-OUTS DURING YULETIDE


The Security Department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has reiterated the enforcement of the federal government’s ban on the use of knock-outs, also known as bangers, during the yuletide season and beyond. In an official notice dated December 5, 2025, the Chief Safety Officer, Ken Chukwurah, informed the university community that the prohibition remains in effect to prevent unnecessary panic and tension in the university’s neighborhood.

The safety department emphasized its dedication to maintaining a secure and conducive environment for both learning and research, assuring that existing laws will be strictly enforced throughout the holiday period.
