UNIDEL SECURES NUC APPROVAL FOR TWO NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The National Universities Commission has granted approval for the establishment of additional programmes at the University of Delta, Agbor.

According to a statement signed by Abubakar Girel, Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary, the approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts.

The newly approved programmes, to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session, include B.Sc. Data Science and B.Sc. Information Science, both under the Faculty of Computing.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, expressed delight and urged staff to remain committed, hardworking and productive, noting that the institution’s growth is a shared responsibility.

With this latest approval, the number of NUC-accredited programmes at UNIDEL has risen to 96, with more programmes expected to follow soon.
