BUK WARNS STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS AGAINST UNAPPROVED EVENTS

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), through the Deanery of Student Affairs, has issued a warning to all students and registered associations over the rising cases of unapproved activities and events being organised on campus.

The notice, signed by the Dean, Professor Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza, expressed the university’s displeasure at the growing disregard for due process, stating that several events have recently been carried out without the mandatory approval of the Dean.

According to the memo, any student or association found organising such unauthorized programmes risks having their association registration cancelled and will also face disciplinary action as provided by university regulations.

Students and associations were reminded to strictly adhere to all institutional rules and procedures. The Dean emphasised that his office remains open and ready to approve and support any activity that aligns with the university’s guidelines, promising meaningful suggestions to enhance student impact.

The memo further urged all associations that are yet to register with the Student Affairs Division to come forward with their application for proper documentation, assuring that compliant groups will be promptly registered.

The university reiterated its commitment to maintaining order, ensuring student safety and fostering responsible campus engagement.
