UNIMAID TO GRADUATE 20,164 STUDENTS, 205 BAG FIRST CLASS
The University of Maiduguri will graduate 20,164 students as it marks its 25th convocation and 50th anniversary.
Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammed Mele announced that the graduating set includes 66 PhDs, 1,020 Master’s Degrees, 3,851 Postgraduate Diplomas, 13,624 Bachelor’s Degrees and 1,699 Diplomas. Out of the Bachelor’s category, 205 students earned First Class Honours.
Mele praised the Federal Government for key interventions such as the 12MW Hybrid Solar Power Plant and TETFund allocations for medical programmes and new facilities. He also commended the Borno State Government for continuous support.
He said the 50th anniversary will highlight the university’s resilience through insurgency and the launch of the UNIMAID Endowment Fund to boost research, infrastructure and sustainability.
Mele appealed to alumni, partners and donors to support the university’s growth and future plans.
