EDUCATION MINISTER DR. MARUF ALAUSA CONDEMNS DEADLY ATTACK ON KEBBI GIRLS’ SCHOOL

The Nigerian Minister of Education, Chief Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has expressed profound grief over the violent attack on Government Girls School, Maga, in Kebbi State, which resulted in the abduction of schoolgirls and the tragic killing of a Vice Principal.

Describing the incident as “heartbreaking,” Minister Alausa extended condolences to the families of the victims, the school community, and the people of Kebbi State. “No parent should ever experience such sorrow, and no teacher should lose their life while performing the noble duty of educating Nigeria’s children,” he said.

He condemned the assault as a “cruel and senseless act,” emphasizing that it strikes not only at innocent students and educators but at the nation’s future. The Ministry of Education is working closely with security agencies and the Kebbi State government to ensure the safe return of the abducted girls and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Minister Alausa also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to school safety nationwide, particularly in vulnerable communities. “Our children deserve to learn in safety. Our teachers deserve to serve without fear. We will not relent until every school in Nigeria is a place of protection and hope,” he stated.

The statement was signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations for the Ministry, on Tuesday, 19th November 2025.
