UNILAG ANNOUNCES HOSTEL ALLOCATION BALLOTING SCHEDULE FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has released the official notice for the hostel accommodation application and balloting exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session, specifically for 200 to 500 level students.
According to the circular, the application portal for hostel spaces is now open and will close by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The balloting exercise for eligible applicants will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025.
The University stated that only 200 to 500 level students who have completed their first-semester course registration for the 2025/2026 academic session, and are still within the regular duration of their programmes, are qualified to apply.
Applicants are required to apply through their student portals during the approved window. The notice explained that students may also submit their accommodation applications as soon as they complete their course registration.
Following the close of the application window, available bed spaces will be allocated through a random balloting system to ensure fairness among all eligible applicants.
Important dates released by the University include:
• Application Start: 12:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2025
• Application Deadline: 11:59 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025
• Balloting: Friday, November 21, 2025
• Payment Deadline for Successful Applicants: Friday, November 28, 2025
• Movement into Hostels: Saturday, November 22, 2025
The notice further stressed that students currently residing in EL-KANNEMI Hall 2, GBAJABIAMILA, Women Society Hostels and other hostels within this category are not eligible for the balloting exercise. The Student Affairs Division has the verified list of occupants in these hostels.
The University warned that any student who violates this directive will be referred to the Students’ Disciplinary Board for social misconduct.
