LOTECHUKWU IKPO MAKES HISTORY AS BOWEN UNIVERSITY’S FIRST GRADUATE WITH PERFECT 5.0 CGPA
Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, has made history as it celebrated Miss Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo, the institution’s first-ever graduate to attain a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 out of 5.0.
The outstanding academic record was announced by the university through its verified Facebook page on Monday, following the 25th Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
According to the university, Ikpo’s academic journey was defined by resilience, discipline, and inspiration. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of her father during her second year, she turned her grief into strength and emerged as the Best Graduating Student of the year.
The university wrote, “At our 25th Convocation Ceremony, one name lit up the hall — Lotechukwu Isioma Ikpo! Declared the Best Graduating Student, she made history as the first-ever graduate with a perfect 5.0/5.0 CGPA at Bowen University.”
Bowen also disclosed that her success story began with the Advanced Level Program, which laid the foundation for her academic excellence. During the ceremony, she received numerous awards and a fully funded Master’s scholarship, marking an emotional moment filled with tears of joy.
The institution encouraged other students to draw inspiration from Ikpo’s feat, stating, “Her story shows us that with passion and perseverance, there are no limits to what we can achieve. Now, it’s your turn to write your own limitless story!”
Bowen University, owned by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing excellence, innovation, and character in all its students.
