LASU TO REPRESENT LAGOS STATE AT ZONAL STAGE OF NATIONAL CAMPUS DEBATE 2025

Lagos State University (LASU) has clinched the State Winner’s position in the ongoing National Campus Debate 2025, marking yet another milestone achievement for the institution.

In a congratulatory letter dated 28th August 2025, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, commended LASU for its outstanding performance. The letter, addressed to the Dean of Students’ Affairs Division, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, praised the university’s success at this stage of the competition.

“Your institution’s participation and success at this stage reflect commendable commitment to intellectual excellence, civic engagement, and nation-building. We are proud of your contribution to this youth-focused initiative aimed at strengthening national values through debate and dialogue,” Mallam Issa-Onilu stated.

The NOA DG further noted that LASU will proceed to represent Lagos State at the Zonal Face-to-Face Debate Competition, scheduled to hold between 15th and 22nd September 2025. The zonal contest is themed: “Unity in Diversity: Defining National Identity in Nigeria’s Multicultural Society.”

Reacting to the feat, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulated the entire LASU community, describing the victory as a remarkable academic achievement that further underscores the university’s tradition of excellence.
