GOMBE STATE UNIVERSITY (GSU) APPOINTS PROF. YAUTA AS SUBSTANTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR
Segio Campus Reports can confirm that the Governing Council of Gombe State University (GSU) has officially approved the appointment of Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
Prof. Yauta, widely celebrated as a “GSU-bred scholar”, joined the University in 2006 as a Graduate Assistant and steadily rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Educational Management and Finance. Over the years, he has served in several key positions including Head of Department, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Acting Director of the Directorate of General Studies, and pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). Until this appointment, he was the Acting Vice-Chancellor of GSU.
An accomplished academic, Prof. Yauta holds a B.Sc. (Ed) in Economics from the University of Abuja, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Planning from the University of Maiduguri, and a PhD in Higher Education Management and Finance from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. His academic record includes more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, 8 book chapters, and over 10 conference presentations, in addition to supervising numerous postgraduate students.
He is also an active member of leading professional bodies such as NAEPA, CCEAM, and TRCN, and has contributed nationally as a Chief External Examiner with JAMB.
The Governing Council expressed confidence that Prof. Yauta’s appointment will consolidate the University’s growth, enhance academic excellence, and deepen its service to society.
