LASU REAFFIRMS MERIT-BASED ADMISSION, DEBUNKS FAKE INFO IN CIRCULATION 

The Lagos State University (LASU) Management has warned parents, guardians, and admission seekers to disregard false information currently circulating about the institution’s 2025/2026 admission process.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar/Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Oluwayemisi A. Thomas-Onashile, LASU described as misleading and deceptive the notices allegedly issued by groups such as Eko Club and the Media Office of the Executive Chairman of Ibeju Local Government.

According to the university, the fake notices claim that candidates are required to submit their UTME results and admission slips to unauthorized individuals and offices.

LASU clarified that:

• The information is false and should be ignored.
• The institution’s admission process is strictly merit-based.
• All genuine details are available only on the official website (www.lasu.edu.ng), approved social media pages, and university bulletin.
• As of now, all Lagos State indigenes who scored 195 and above in the 2025 UTME and successfully defended their indigeneship before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) have already been offered admission.

The Management therefore urged students and the general public to avoid being deceived by fake groups and to rely solely on LASU’s official channels for admission updates.
