FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LOKOJA (FUL) ANNOUNCES VACANCY FOR THE POSITION OF VICE CHANCELLOR
The Governing Council of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, has announced the commencement of the selection process for a new Vice-Chancellor, as the tenure of the current officeholder will end on 14th February 2026.
According to a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie, applications are invited from suitably qualified, distinguished academics in line with the provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and its amendments.
Eligibility requirements include:

Must hold at least a Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree and a PhD (or professional equivalent).

Be a Professor for at least 10 years in a reputable university with evidence of at least one funded research project.

Minimum of 15 years’ continuous university service.

Proven capacity for leadership, innovation, fundraising, and international collaborations.

Must have delivered an inaugural lecture and possess at least 30 citations in Google Scholar, Scopus, and ResearchGate.

ICT proficiency and strong administrative experience.
-
Not more than 65 years old at the date of assumption of duty (15th February 2026).

Must be of impeccable integrity, good health, and sound character.
Tenure & Conditions:
The appointment is for a single, non-renewable five-year term with remuneration and benefits as applicable to Vice-Chancellors of Federal Universities in Nigeria.
