LASU Socio-Academic Activities to Restart on Wednesday as JAC Calls Off industrial Action
The Senate of Lagos State University (LASU) has approved the resumption of all academic and social activities across its campuses starting Wednesday, 13th August 2025.
This follows the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of staff unions calling off their industrial action on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, and agreeing to resume work from Wednesday, 13th August 2025. The decision came after a meeting with Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on Thursday, 7th August 2025.
The Senate also announced that students should move into their hostels on all campuses in Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe from Wednesday, 13th August 2025. Additionally, the previously suspended 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations will begin on Monday, 18th August 2025.
The industrial action, declared on Thursday, 31st July 2025, led to a suspension of academic and social activities across the University, as approved by the Senate at a virtual meeting on Saturday, 2nd August 2025.
Students have been advised to return promptly and prepare adequately for their upcoming examinations.
