MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY (MAU) RESCHEDULES UNDERGRADUATE MATRICULATION CEREMONY FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION
Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has officially announced a change in the date for its 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony. The exercise, originally scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025, will now take place on Friday, June 20, 2025.
This adjustment follows the declaration of a public holiday by the Federal Government in observance of Democracy Day on June 12, coupled with an extended break granted by the university management on June 12 and 13. The combination of these events has temporarily disrupted preparations for the matriculation ceremony.
According to an internal memo signed by the University Registrar, Mustafa U. Migawa, mnim, the new date was approved by the Vice-Chancellor to ensure adequate time for preparation. The decision also allows newly admitted students enough time to secure academic gowns and prepare properly for the event.
Students, staff, and the wider university community are advised to take note of the new date and make necessary adjustments to their schedules.
The university management expressed regret for any inconvenience the rescheduling might cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders.
The matriculation ceremony is a significant academic tradition, formally welcoming new students into the university community.
