UTME 2025: JAMB DELISTS FIVE CBT CENTRES FOR FAILING TO MEET TECHNICAL STANDARDS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted five Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country for failing to meet the technical standards required for the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The affected centres are:

1. Adventure Associate, Behind Sheshe Supermarket, Off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State

2. Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, Kano State

3. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 2, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal

4. Penta M & F Technical Services Ltd, Centre 1, 96km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal

5. Soronara Ventured Nigeria Limited, Foundation Road, Umudagu Mbieri, Mbaitoli, Imo State

According to a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the centres were delisted due to technical failures and non-compliance with the board’s operational standards.

JAMB praised the performance of 883 centres nationwide that have so far conducted the exams without hitches, but reiterated that any centre, regardless of ownership or affiliation, that compromises ethical or technical standards will be blacklisted.

Candidates previously assigned to the delisted centres are advised to urgently reprint their examination notification slips to know their new centres and rescheduled exam dates. The board warned that it will not accept excuses from candidates who fail to update their slips accordingly.

So far, more than 900,000 candidates have successfully written the UTME out of the total 2,083,600 registered for the 2025 exams.

In a related development, JAMB confirmed the arrest of 27 individuals for impersonation during the ongoing exams. The suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for immediate prosecution.

Hijab Incident at Caleb University

JAMB also responded swiftly to a controversial incident at Caleb University, where female candidates wearing hijabs were allegedly restricted by a security officer. The Board described the action as unauthorized and unacceptable, clarifying that it was not a directive from either the university or the exam body.

The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University has since condemned the incident, describing it as a result of overzealousness on the part of one of the security operatives. Both the centre and university authorities have intervened promptly to resolve the matter.

JAMB has apologized to the affected candidates and assured the public that no examinee suffered any disadvantage due to the incident.

“We commend the leadership of the university and the exam centre for their swift response,” the statement added.

JAMB continues to call for vigilance and cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure the integrity and smooth conduct of the 2025 UTME nationwide.
