FEDERAL UNIVERSITY GUSAU (FUGUS) INVITES CREATIVE STUDENTS TO COMPOSE OFFICIAL SCHOOL ANTHEM
The Management of Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has announced a call for submissions for the official University Anthem, inviting all students with a flair for poetry to participate in a competitive selection process.
In a memo released by the Committee for FUGUS Anthem, it was stated that:
“The Management of the University intends to produce a dedicated Anthem to be played at all official functions of the University.”
To achieve this, the University has constituted a special committee to oversee the organization of a competition. The committee invites students to compose and submit original anthem entries that align with the vision and mission of the University and reflect the cultural identity of Zamfara State.
Submissions are expected to follow specific guidelines, including a structure of two to three stanzas (each containing four to five lines), use of simple language, and rhythmic consistency.
Entries must be submitted in PDF format, accompanied by an audio recording of the contestant reciting the anthem, as well as a brief profile containing full name, department, and biography.
The deadline for submission is from 5th to 26th April, 2025, and entries can be sent via email to acadfug@fugusau.edu.ng or through WhatsApp to 08162017467.
The committee looks forward to showcasing the creativity and talent of FUGUS students through this historic initiative.
