JAMB Closes 2025 UTME Registration with Record 2 Million Applicants

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially closed registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a record-breaking 2,030,627 candidates successfully completing their registration.

The registration process, which began on February 3, 2025, and ended on March 8, 2025, saw a significant increase in applicants compared to previous years. This year’s figure surpasses the 1,985,642 registrations recorded in 2024 and 1,867,743 in 2022.

In addition to the main UTME, 200,115 candidates have opted for the optional mock examination scheduled for April 5, 2025, while 630 candidates will participate in the trial mock examination on the same date.

JAMB has implemented innovative measures to prevent cheating and maintain the integrity of the examination process. These measures have already led to multiple arrests of candidates attempting to use forged A-level results for admission.

Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to the examination rules and regulations and refrain from any dishonest practices during the examination.

The UTME is scheduled to take place on April 25, 2025. With preparations in full swing, JAMB is gearing up to manage the record turnout and ensure a smooth examination process.
