For the Second Consecutive Year; LASU Rolls Out Smart ID Cards for the 2023/2024 Academic Session
Lagos State University (LASU) has launched the distribution of advanced identification cards to admitted full-time undergraduate students for the 2023/2024 academic session. This initiative marks the second consecutive year of the university’s innovative ID card project.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has given the green light for the issuance of these cutting-edge cards, designed to provide students with a seamless and secure experience.
These multi-functional cards serve as both identification and payment cards, granting students effortless access to academic and financial services. Additionally, the cards will facilitate access control and authentication across the LASU campus.
Cardholders can perform transactions at ATMs, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and online platforms. Other benefits include protection against identity theft and safeguarding of sensitive information.
Students are encouraged to activate their cards at any nearby POS or ATM to unlock the full potential of their LASU Smart Card. Account details will be shared via SMS upon activation.
Note that only students who have previously provided their National Identification Number (NIN) can activate their cards. Students who have not yet provided their NIN should visit their departments for further guidance.
The LASU Smart Card account is initially a Tier 1 account but can be upgraded by submitting required documents to any LOTUS bank branch or the LASU branch.
Required documents for upgrade:
– Passport
– BVN
– Valid ID
– Proof of address
– Utility bill
To activate the card:
