Gov. Fintiri of Adamawa increases Corp state allowance from N10k to N20k effective from December 2024


Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has announced his administration’s readiness to increase the monthly allowance of Corp members in the state from ten thousand to twenty thousand Naira.

The governor stated this when he addressed the 2024 Batch C Stream one Corp members during the occasion for the opening ceremony of the orientation course, which took place at the NYSC Orientation camp in Damare.

 

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Said he has no doubt that the Corp members will replicate the same gesture by being diligent, disciplined, hardworking, and committed at their various places of primary assignments for the betterment of their host communities.

 

The governor reminded them that white-collar jobs are not readily available hence the need for them to avail themselves of the opportunities for self-empowerment offered through the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program.

” I commend the NYSC management for continuously coming up with laudable and dynamic initiatives geared towards enhancing the SAED program and making it viable”

 

Fintiri who commended them for the courage to serve their fatherland in Adamawa State, explained that they will be opportune to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state as their skills, talents, and energies will be invaluable in various sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural development.

He therefore urged them to engage in healthy interactions, exchange ideas, and build a lasting relationship to advance the progress of a united Nigeria.

 

Fintiri commended the camp officials for their care and mentorship as he wished the Corp members a hitch-free camping exercise.

 

In his remarks, the Adamawa State NYSC coordinator Atei Samson seek the governor’s intervention in the general renovation of the camp facilities and perimeter fence for effective security.

The coordinator highlighted that the NYSC and its Corp members have made significant strides in Adamawa State, particularly in promoting digital literacy among children, stressing that the Nigeria Learning Passport program, a collaborative program with the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has seen remarkable success in all 21 local government areas of the state.

 

“as of Nov 2024, I’m glad to inform His Excellency that the program has surpassed the federal government’s target of 30,000 enrollments, reaching 65, 000 enrollment in Adamawa State,” he said.

 

He noted that the orientation course is meant to prepare the Corp members physically and mentally for their expected contributions to the progress and development of the country as he appreciated them for demonstrating a commendable level of discipline and enthusiasm since arrival in camp.

 

” you must comply strictly with all camp rules and regulations, and be obedient to the course officials ”

 

He appreciated all the local government councils for their fatherly support to the Corp members and reminded the chairmen that a conducive working environment and other incentives are among the factors that dictate the number of Corp members disposed to settle down in the local government areas.

 

The Chairman, the Nysc state Governing board, the Commissioner of Youth and sports

Wali Yakubu represented by a director from the ministry thanked the Governor for his immense contribution to the Nysc.

 

Wali welcomed the Corp members to the state and urged them to be law-abiding and embrace all skills acquisition programs with seriousness.

 

A total number of 1500 Corp members including males and females have been registered.

 

The oath of allegiance was administered by the Chief Justice of Adamawa State, Justice Haphsat Abdulrahman represented by Justice Benjamin Lawan Manji.
