LASUED Holds Maiden Orientation Programme for Diploma And Certificate Students

The Centre for Diploma Programmes (CenDIP), Lagos State University of Education on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th November, 2024 held a Two-Day maiden Orientation Programme for the pioneer Diploma and Certificate students for the 2024/2025 academic session in the Oba Oloto and 700 seater capacity halls, Oto/Ijanikin main campus.

The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Education, Prof. Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye ably represented by the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Daodu M.A. encouraged students to do their best, not to feel inferior to their counterparts in the degree cadre because so many renowned professors and world changers started their academic pursuit with Diploma Programmes before attaining their highest degrees citing LASUED Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.B Lafiaji-Okuneye as an example.

More so, he admonished the students to stay focused on their academic pursuit and shun all forms of social-vices as this will propel them to an enviable height.

In his address, the Acting Director, Centre for Diploma Programmes (CenDIP), LASUED, Dr. Ogunmade T. O. enjoined students to embrace their academic activities and foster excellent relationships in the school.

Furthermore, students were exposed to the nitty-gritty of their programmes by facilitators present such as Dr. Braimah, the Dean Students’ Affairs, Dr. Dawodu R.A, and Chief Security Officer of the university, Mr Olakoyejo Yishawu respectively.

Other dignitaries in attendance were; the Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Dr. M.A Shittu, the University Registrar, Mr. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. O. A Badejo, the Coordinator, Hospitality And Tourism Management, Dr. Dejo Titilayo and other Lecturers in the Centre.
