NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY GRADUATES 823 OFFICERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF NIGERIA – THE LARGEST NUMBER IN THE HISTORY OF NIGERIA
Kaduna, Nigeria – The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is proud to announce the graduation of 823 officers Commissioned into the Armed Forces of Nigeria, marking the successful completion of their 5-year training program. The NDA made history on 28 of September, 2024 as having commissioned the largest number since its establishment in 1964.
The rigorous training program consisted of 4 years of academic studies, leading to a degree in various fields, followed by 1 year of intensive military training. This comprehensive training equipped the cadets with the necessary skills, knowledge, and character to excel as military officers.
The final 1-year military training included specialized modules such as Airborne Course, Company Amphibious Course, Range Management Course and Method of Instruction.
These modules ensured that the graduating officers possess the tactical, technical, and leadership skills required to serve in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The NDA’s commitment to producing highly trained and motivated officers is reflected in its motto, “Loyalty and Valour” .The academy remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of military leaders, equipped to defend Nigeria’s interests and uphold the values of the Armed Forces.
The passing out parade, attended by dignitaries and family members, marked a significant milestone in the lives of the graduating officers. The President Commander -in-Chief, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Speaker House of Representatives Right Honourable Tajudeen Abbas congratulated the graduands on their achievement and charged them to uphold the highest standards of military professionalism.
Among the dignitaries who witnessed the colourful parade include the, the executive Governor of Kaduna State Senator Uba Sani, representatives of Stare Governors, Honourable Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Honourable Minister of State Defence Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall HB Abubakar as well as the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetekun.The epoch making event also had in attendance, members of the National and States Houses of Assembly, members of diplomatic corps, Permanent Secretaries, traditional rulers, senior serving and retired military and paramilitary officers, celebrities as well as captains of industries, Heads of Ministries Departments and Agencies among several other important personalities.
The NDA will continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of Nigeria’s military, and this graduation ceremony serves as a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence.
