LASU GETS 100% NUC ACCREDITATION FOR COURSES ASSESSED DURING THE OCTOBER/NOVEMBER ACCREDITATION EXERCISE

The Lagos State University (LASU) under the administration of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM has continued to maintain its position as the best state university and choice of institution for admission seekers across all categories.

Recently, the most digitally advanced State University in Nigeria has secured accreditation for all the forty-four (44) courses submitted by the university for the National Universities Commission accreditation exercise held between October and November, 2023.

On 6th of June, 2024, the university received the results of the accreditation exercise communicated in a letter from the Executive Chairman, National Universities Commision (NUC), Engr Abraham Chundusu.

Per statistics of courses submitted for accreditation and courses approved, the result showed that 43 of the 44 courses assessed secured full accreditation with only one course – Computer Science Education, getting interim accreditation.

Recall that during the 27th Convocation Ceremonies, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello disclosed that 20 new programmes were approved in four new faculties and school.

“In the 2023/2024 Academic Session, we admitted the first set of students into 20 newly approved programmes in four new faculties and school”

The Vice Chancellor has appreciated the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Tolani Sule, members of the Governing Council and all stakeholders in the LASU Project for the success.
