DICT BEGINS THE DISTRIBUTION OF SMART ID CARDS TO ADMITTED FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS IN 2022/2023 ACADEMIC SESSION
... Students urged to activate their card on any POS or ATM
The Vice Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni NPOM, in furtherance to her promise to ensure flexible use of services via digitisation, has approved the release of the newly produced Smart Identification Cards to students of Lagos State University with effect from 2022/2023 academic session.
The sophisticated and stylish card serves as both an identity card and payment card by providing holders with seamless access to both academic and financial services. The card will also be used for access control, facilitating authentication across LASU premises. With this card, holders can seamlessly perform transactions at ATMs, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and online.
Other benefits of the card include prevention of identity fraud/theft and critical protection holder’s data.
Concerned students are, therefore, enjoined to activate their cards on any POS or ATM accessible to them to start enjoying the Smart Life Style attached to the cards.
LASU Smart Card account has been opened for all holders, and the account details will be shared via SMS on activation.
Please NOTE that only students who have earlier provided their NIN as requested can activate their cards as stated using the default for further information. Students who are yet to provide their NIN are advised to visit their departments for further information.
Please note that your LASU Smart Card account is currently a TIER 1 account but can be upgraded by providing the items below to any LOTUS bank near you or our LASU branch.
• Passport
• BVN
• Valid means of identification
• Valid address
• Utility bill
Card Activation
Change your PIN via any bank ATM:
• Insert your card into the ATM.
• Select “Change PIN.”
• Enter the default PIN.
• Choose your preferred PIN.
The Vice Chancellor, therefore, charges all students to ensure that the cards are put to responsible usage.
