UNIOSUN Lecturer Wins Prestigious Nigeria Malaria Modelling Fellowship
A lecturer at Osun State University, Dr. Iyanuoluwa Adufe, has been recently selected for the highly esteemed Nigeria Malaria Modelling Fellowship (MMF).
Dr. Adufe’s selection was confirmed in a statement released by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024.
Adesoji, in the statement, highlighted that Dr. Adufe’s achievement underscores her exceptional academic prowess and dedication to public health.
“The MMF, a collaborative initiative between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Corona Management System (CMS), National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO), aims to bolster the mathematical modelling capacity of public health professionals in Nigeria,” Adesoji added.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, commended Dr. Adufe, attributing her success to the University’s commitment to research development and problem-solving.
“Our university’s unparalleled track record in grant acquisition and fellowships in recent years reflects our dedication to research excellence. Dr. Adufe’s accomplishment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges,” remarked the Vice-Chancellor.
“This year, we have secured numerous grants, notably the TETFund NRF grant, which has significantly enhanced our local and global visibility. We remain steadfast in our pursuit of research excellence, and I congratulate Dr. Adufe while urging other researchers to continue their efforts in finding solutions to national and global issues,” the Vice-Chancellor concluded.
