EAUEDOYO ANNOUNCES DEATH OF PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, PENSION AND BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION


EMMANUEL ALAYANDE UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, OYO ANNOUNCES DEATH OF MR. SUNDAY BABATUNDE OLANIYI, PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, PENSION AND BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION
…Vice Chancellor, Olaniyan expresses shock

The Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo community was thrown into mourning early today, as the University Management received and officially announced the news of the untimely death of the Principal Assistant Registrar/Pension and Benefit Administration Division, Mr. Sunday Babatunde Olaniyi who gave up the ghost yesterday, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 after a brief illness at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso.

Mr. Sunday Babatunde Olaniyi who would have clocked 60 years on Sunday, March 24, 2024, was born on March 24, 1964. He joined the service of the defunct College on June 1, 1990 and until his death was a staff in the registry department and was the Head of the Pension and Benefit Administration Division at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo. The late Sunday Babatunde Olaniyi popularly known and addressed as “Elder”, who was the Branch Protem General Secretary, Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), EAUED, Oyo, attended Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife for his WASC and graduated in 1982. He proceeded to the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa for his NCE certificate (1985) and later to the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom for a Bachelor of Science in Education B.Sc (Ed.) Degree in Economics and graduated in 2002. Not satisfied, he again proceeded to the Ajayi Crowther, Oyo and bagged his Masters of Public Administration degree in 2022. He was a Member of the Institute of Corporate Administration and had attended several conferences, seminars and workshops as an administrator. He was happily married to Mrs. Mary Foluke Olaniyi, a staff in the Office of the Registrar and survived by glorious children.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has expressed shock over the death of Mr. Sunday Babatunde Olaniyi, describing his death as a loss to the University and especially, the Registry department. According to the University helmsman, “We received today the sad news of the demise of a Principal Assistant Registrar in the Registry department, Mr. Sunday Babatunde Olaniyi who until his death was the Head, Pension and Benefit Administration Division. As a University Management, we are grieved by this ugly news and hereby expresses our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, particularly his wife, Mrs. Olaniyi who is equally our staff, leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and the entire members of the University community. It is our prayer to God Almighty to put a stop to untimely deaths among us and grant the deceased eternal rest”.

He finally offered his condolences to the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo, Committee of Deputy Registrars and the entire members of the University Registry. “May God Almighty give us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”, the Vice Chancellor submitted.
