CHIADINU CONFERENCE TAGGED LASU 2023: ONIBA HOSTS CONFERENCE DELEGATES

As the Annual Conference of the Committee of Heads of Internal Audit Department/Units in Nigerian Universities, tagged LASU 2023, commenced, Monday, 13th November 2023, the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, H.R.M Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Ashade, yesterday evening played host to the delegates of the conference.

The delegates were led to the beautiful palace of the Oniba, on a courtesy visit by the Director, Directorate of Internal Audit of Lagos State University and Chairperson of CHIADINU, Mrs. Margaret Ogunkoya.

Mrs. Ogunkoya, in her brief address, said it was typical of the Body to pay courtesy visits to traditional rulers of host communities whenever the conference is taking place. She praised the Oniba for giving the delegates the best reception ever accorded to them by any traditional ruler. She also led the Executives of the Body to present a plaque to the king in acknowledgement of his support.

Oniba, in a short remark, welcomed the delegates to Iba Kingdom and wished them a successful conference. However, even though his remarks were terse, the revered king made lavish provision of food and drinks to entertain the visitors who had come from about 50 universities from all over the federation.

The Alakesan of Akesan Kingdom, HRM, Oba Nojeemdeen Abidemi Aberejo Ogunjobi, was also on hand to support his Iba counterpart as he (Oniba) received the Heads of Audit Directorates in universities in the country.

The CHIADINU conference will be formally declared open today, Tuesday, 14th November 2023, by the Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM.
