LASU REMAINS MOST DIGITALLY ADVANCED STATE UNIVERSITY IN NIGERIA

…. Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM reiterates at 27th Convocation Ceremonies Press Conference.

During the 27th Convocation Press Conference of Lagos State University held on Thursday, 30th May 2024, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM while stating the administration achievement in the last one year, reiterated that the University remains the most digitally advanced State University in Nigeria, by winning three awards at the Nigeria Information Technology Awards.

She stressed that the technological advancement cuts across the University postgraduate school processes from pre-admission to graduation with issuance of students academic transcripts done seamlessly without any delay, and she also revealed other records of achievements in the area of Information and Communication Technology which the University has achieved.

The Professor of Physiology also announced Olaniyi Mubarak Olawale from the department of Accounting Education, Faculty of Education as the Best Graduating Student for the 2022/2023 Academic Session with CGPA 4.98 as 153 students bags first class, and for Masters, Olaitan Aminat Damilola with a CGPA of 4.78 from the Faculty of Education, department of Educational Management emerge the best graduating student.

Speaking further, the Vice Chancellor also boasts of many achievements across academics, sports and infrastructures, and assured the public of the preparations that are in top gear for the All-Africa University Games to be co-hosted by LASU and the University of Lagos in September 2024.

At the LASU 27th Convocation Ceremonies, distinguished individuals will be recognized for their outstanding contributions. The honorees include Distinguished Prof Martins Aghenuma ANETEKHAI, Emeritus Professor; Professor Amidu Olalekan Sanni, Distinguished Professor; Prince (Hon.) Tajudeen Oluyole OLUSI MON OON, awarded Honorary Doctor of Literature (History, Education, and Community Development), Honoris Causa; and Prince (Dr) Samuel ADEDOYIN, OFR, conferred Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (Commerce, Industry, and National Development) Honoria Causa. Also, Former Minister of Works and Housing, and Visitor to the University, Dr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, CON will be delivering the Convocation Lecture on Tuesday, 4th June 2024.

The LASU 27th Convocation Ceremonies officially kick-started on Thursday, 30th May 2024 and will end on Thursday, 6th June 2024.
