Taiwo Ohikere Oluwanseun is from far away Kogi State who was deployed to the Land of Beauty, Adamawa State for his one year mandatory national service. He belongs to the 2022 Batch C Stream II service year. After his successful Orientation Camp, Taiwo was posted to far away Toungo LGA, which shares borders with Cameroon Republic. Accepting his posting in good faith and with the determination to serve his Fatherland wherever he is taken to, Taiwo joyfully joined his colleagues to embark on the 5–hour journey to the border town (Toungo) to report at his PPA, Government Junior Secondary School (GJSS) Toungo.
Because of his commitment at his PPA, CDS and his host community, Taiwo was appointed the CLO (Corps Liaison Officer) of the LGA. Taiwo successfully finished his service in November, 2023 and decided to stay back and do something in line with his course of study, which is SLT Chemistry. Taiwo has now set up a Chemist Shop/Mini Laboratory in Toungo town. Permit me to now go back to the love story.
Just halfway into his service year, then came this beautiful damsel, Zakariya Rahmotalahi! It was precisely on a beautiful Tuesday evening and 16th May, 2023. Rahmotalahi is of the 2023 Batch A Stream II that just passed out Thursday last week. For Rahmotalahi, the 2023 A2 passing out was a double celebration day, as it was the very day she got engaged to her heartthrob, Taiwo.
I know you are wondering how it all started!
It all started at the Central Corpers’ Lodge Toungo, the very first day Taiwo set his eyes on
Rahmotalahi. He secretly told himself that “this is my wife!” So for Taiwo, it was Love at first sight! And he didn’t waste time in making his moves. But Rahmotalahi wasn’t forthcoming. Yet he kept pushing and not giving her any breathing space. At her PPA, at CDS, at the Corpers’ Lodge and any available space, Taiwo was chasing Rahmotalahi. Now the rest is history.
Now all arrangements have been concluded between both parents and the wedding date could be fixed any time from now. This is a challenge to all the serving and even ex corps members. Kudos to the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Hajiya Chakaseda Maryam, who played a motherly role.
Let’s celebrate them, congratulate and pray for them.
